Working toward Radical Inclusion and Racial Justice
Then the king will say to those at his right hand, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25: 34-40, NRSV)
Every year at this time in June, we look forward to gathering together as United Methodists at Annual Conference. We worship, pray, and celebrate what God is doing in our midst. We do the business of the Annual Conference, even in the time of the pandemic.
As we begin this holy time today, please join me as we pray for God’s guidance and presence:
Gracious and loving God, it is indeed a blessing to gather together even virtually. Bless our time of worship and business so that we can celebrate that we are your people, working toward radical inclusion and racial justice. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.

Trabajando hacia una inclusión Radical y Justica Racial,
Entonces el Rey dirá a los de su derecha: “Venid, benditos de mi Padre, heredad el Reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo, porque tuve hambre y me disteis de comer; tuve sed y me disteis de beber; fui forastero y me recogisteis; estuve desnudo y me vestisteis; enfermo y me visitasteis; en la cárcel y fuisteis a verme.” Entonces los justos le responderán diciendo: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento y te alimentamos, o sediento y te dimos de beber? ¿Y cuándo te vimos forastero y te recogimos, o desnudo y te vestimos? ¿O cuándo te vimos enfermo o en la cárcel, y fuimos a verte?” Respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: “De cierto os digo que en cuanto lo hicisteis a uno de estos mis hermanos más pequeños, a mí lo hicisteis.” (San Mateo 25: 34-40, Versión Reina Valera 1995)
Todos los años en este tiempo de Junio, nosotros siempre esperamos reunirnos como Metodistas Unidos en la Conferencia Anual. Allí adoramos, oramos y celebramos lo que Dios está haciendo en medio nuestro. Hacemos también los negocios de la Conferencia Anual, aun en medio de la pandemia.
Ahora que comenzamos este tiempo Santo el día de hoy, por favor únanse conmigo para orar por la guía y presencia de Dios:
Dios de gracia y amor, en verdad es una bendición el estar reunidos aun de una manera virtual. Bendice nuestro tiempo juntos para adorar y hacer los negocios de la Conferencia Anual, de manera que podamos celebrar que somos tu pueblo, trabajando hacia una inclusión radical y una justicia racial. En el nombre de Jesus oramos. Amen.
