Personal Investment Plans
The United Methodist Pension Investment Plan (UMPIP) is an Internal Revenue Code section 403(b) retirement savings plan for clergy and lay employees of The United Methodist Church and affiliated organizations. The plan is designed to provide participants with one element of their overall retirement portfolio.
UMPIP is a defined contribution (DC) retirement plan. Participants can make before-tax, Roth and/or after-tax contributions through payroll deductions. Personal contributions, plan sponsor contributions made on a participant’s behalf and investment earnings comprise the retirement account balance. Participants can invest their accounts among Wespath Benefits and Investments' funds or use the LifeStage Investment Management Service to manage the investment of their accounts.

Have you completed your Beneficiary Designation for your pension accounts at Wespath? If not, please go to www.wespath.org, log in to Benefits Access and update your beneficiaries. Please be sure to include all information for each beneficiary – name, address, phone and Social Security number. OR, you may complete a paper copy and mail it to Wespath.
If you prefer, complete a paper Beneficiary Designation form and send it to Jean Nicholas, Conference Benefits Officer, 750 Windsor Street, Suite 104, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 or email it to jean.nicholas@wisconsinumc.org. Jean will keep a copy in your confidential benefits file in the Finance office and she will forward the original to the Survivor Benefits Team at Wespath.
