Onalaska UMC Celebrates Over 50 Missions in 2020

As part of Onalaska UMC's November stewardship campaign, church members celebrated the over 50 missions the congregation has supported in the past year. The congregation produced a video with photos and highlights to share during church and in our community.

One of the most significant this fall was supporting all 435 teachers and staff in our local school district with a hand-written note and a $10 gift card for local restaurants. The Onalaska School District faced the challenge of starting the school year entirely online because of the pandemic. We received dozens of thank-you notes from school staff who needed this encouragement.

The congregation also has a significant feeding ministry in the community. Free monthly community dinners have continued as drive through events during the pandemic, and the church has served over 1,400 meals. They have supported the local food pantry with 1900 food items and $3500, and joined in the local Hunger Walk with nine teams raising an additional $14,000 for La Crosse area food pantries.

Onalaska UMC’s outreach and missions events are part of our vision to "love all people unconditionally; prepare our hearts, minds, and hands; serve in all the ways we can; and celebrate God in all we do."
