Suspicious Emails Circulating

We have learned that some of you received a fraudulent email from Bishop Jung asking for gift cards for patients of Covid-19.  These emails appear to come from the Bishop, but they are from a false Gmail account. Our IT company is aware of the emails and we want to assure you that they did not originate from our system. His email was not hacked nor was our database compromised in any way.

Please do not respond to these emails.  Do not click on links in the emails – they are a scam and are not from Bishop Jung.  Bishop Jung will not ask you to purchase gift cards for him or the Conference, and almost all emails will come from his @wisconsinumc.org email account.

The Bishop, nor any staff of the Wisconsin Conference, will contact you via email to solicit gift cards or special funding.  If you are unsure about any email message, please contact the Conference office at 608-837-7328.

If you received the email, our recommendation is to mark it “Spam” in your email system so that you do not receive future emails from that account.
