National Council of Churches: Continuing a Commitment to End Racism

More than 250 religious leaders, including United Methodists, gathered recently at Old Point Comfort to remember the "20 and odd" enslaved Africans brought there over 400 years ago — the beginning of institutionalized slavery in what would become the United States of America. The gathering was part of an ongoing pledge by the National Council of Churches and its 38 member communions to A.C.T. (Awaken, Confront, Transform) Now! to End Racism.
