Retired United Methodist Bishop Rosemarie Wenner and the Rev. Jean Hawxhurst, ecumenical staff officer for the United Methodist Council of Bishops, were among those observing the "Thursdays in Black" campaign June 20 during the German Protestant church festival of Kirchentag. "Thursdays in Black and the fight against violence and rape is something everyone, men and women, in and outside of church can join. We are all affected by it," Hawxhurst said. Read story
