The Program and Arrangements Committee is implementing a new registration process for Clergy and Lay Members of the 2020 Wisconsin Annual Conference. All clergy and lay persons who are eligible to attend Annual Conference as voting members will receive an invitation. You will not be able to register without an invitation.
Invitations will be sent to each church’s Lay Member(s) of Annual Conference and Alternative Lay Member. To ensure the Conference has an accurate record, the Mailing List of Leaders form must be completed and turned in to your District Office. Any updates or changes need to be submitted no later than January 31, 2020.
Additional lay persons who serve as Lay Members of the Annual Conference and will receive an invitation include:
- Those who are Lay Members by virtue of holding an office listed in ¶32 of the 2016 Book of Discipline
- Those who are Lay Members because of the procedure that the Annual Conference has established to equalize the number of Lay and Clergy Members, found in Rule 2.1.0 of the Conference Journal
The list of clergy members can also be found in ¶32 of the 2016 Book of Discipline.
This change will help maintain the integrity of the Annual Conference by ensuring that all who attend as voting members are qualified to represent their church.
Registration to attend Annual Conference as a guest will still be open to those who do not receive an invitation.
