Letter from UMCS Board of Directors

United Methodist Children’s Services is one of Wisconsin’s Health and Welfare Ministries serving families in Milwaukee. The following letter from the Board of Directors provides updates on several changes happening at UMCS.

Dear Friends,

There have been many changes happening at UMCS that we wanted to update you on.

Our Board of Directors has been focusing on the future and our evaluation has been helpful in realizing what skills are needed for new leadership for the agency. We have determined that an Intentional Interim Executive Director will be the best fit as we move forward. A job description will be posted soon, and the correct candidate will assist with current and future programming, staff oversight and communication with the Board of Directors. We have hired a firm to assist us with this search, with the hope that an Interim Executive Director selection will take place within the next month.

We would like to share some recent staffing changes at UMCS as well. Tina Itson, our Director of Fund Development, resigned earlier this month and has taken a new position within the Milwaukee community. Phoua Vang who has been the leader of the Community Development team also resigned recently to pursue other ventures.

Both women have had essential roles and been the face of UMCS in the many aspects of our work in local community and they will be greatly missed. We ask that you continue to support them and our agency, staff and Board of Directors with your prayers.

Blessings to you and thank you for your continued support to UMCS and the people we serve.
