To aid in personal development and to provide opportunities for minority persons, through educational programs that equip individuals for leadership involvement in the life and mission of the Church, as well as its ministry to society.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be member of an ethnic or language minority.
  • Must be a United States citizen. Persons who are resident aliens will be considered for scholarship assistance on an individual basis.
  • Must be accepted for undergraduate study by an approved or accredited college or other educational institution.
  • Ministerial students who serve parishes may be exempt from taking a full study program; others should carry a full-time academic schedule.
  • Should demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • May receive only one United Methodist award.

Application Procedure

  • The cutoff date for receipt of application and all other pertinent data is May 31 for the following academic year.
