Purpose

The Harriet Alicea Scholarship Fund is a scholarship awarded by family and friends in honor of the late Harriet Alicea, a former Oneida Local Pastor within the Wisconsin Annual Conference. This scholarship is administered by the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation. The purpose of the Harriet Alicea Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to people involved in ministry leading toward licensed Local Pastor or Ordained Pastoral Ministry. Funds can be used for Lay Speaking School, Course of Studies, college expenses leading toward seminary education or seminary.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be Native American or Hispanic.
  • Applicant must be a member of a congregation of the United Methodist Church in Wisconsin.

Application Procedure

  • Submit a letter of application to the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation at the time needed.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from pastor of the church of membership to the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation.
  • Scholarships will be awarded for a maximum of $500 per year.
