Hispanic Scholarship

A scholarship program has been established at the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation to provide assistance to United Methodist Hispanic students who are enrolled or enrolling in college or vocational/technical schools. This program was established with a gift from the Barkes Family Trust. Each year scholarships will be awarded through an application process based on need. The deadline for application and letter of recommendation from your pastor is May 1. Scholarships will be awarded by August 15. Scholarships will be awarded for a minimum of $500. The application is available by contacting the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation or can be found on the website at www.wumf.org.

Seminarian Scholarship

Established in the early 1980’s, the income from this fund is designated to assist individuals whose intent is preparing for a vocation in the life of the church but who are not currently receiving scholarship assistance from the Board of Ordained Ministry. Individuals meeting these criteria are encouraged to send a letter of application and letter of recommendation from the district superintendent to the President of the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation.

Waukesha County Chapel Hill Scholarship

The Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation is trustee of the Chapel Hill Scholarship Fund that was started with the remaining assets of the Chapel Hill UMC in Waukesha, WI. It was the wish of the congregation that scholarships are awarded, with priority given to Waukesha County students “pursuing the ministry”. Students interested in ministry are encouraged to write a letter of application to the President of the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation describing your situation and plans for ministry. We would also like a letter of reference from the local pastor to accompany that request. The deadline for consideration for the academic year is July 1.
