Purpose

Scholarships available to undergraduate students at United Methodist-related colleges and universities that must be applied to tuition and fees. The United Methodist Scholarship is an investment made possible by the Student Day offering in local churches nationwide.

Eligibility Requirements

  • An active full member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to application.
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • A full-time degree candidate in a United Methodist-related college/university.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5+.
  • Able to establish financial need according to guidelines of the college involved.

Application Procedure

  • Obtain application from the United Methodist Scholarship Representative, the director of financial aid, at the United Methodist school of your choice.
  • Return completed application and ask your pastor to return the Certification of Church Membership form to the United Methodist Scholarship Representative at the school.
  • The school scholarship committee will review forms and make recommendations to the Office of Loans and Scholarships, General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church. The final decision regarding the award is made by the scholarship committee in Nashville. Payments are made directly to the school.
  • Application deadline is June 1.
