To offer financial assistance to academically qualified students with college or university training in preparation for their work in the missionary field, whether foreign, domestic, or medical. It includes those preparing for ministry in a project under the supervision of Conference or National Boards of Global Ministries.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • Preference will be given to Wisconsin United Methodist Church members.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be likely to serve in a missionary field for at least five (5) years.
  • Agency for which the missionary work is being performed must submit annual reports for the first five (5) years of missionary service.
  • Preference will be given to those with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must reapply each year they wish funding.
  • A loan of $2500 per academic year may be made with a maximum of $7500 being paid to any one individual. One-half of the loan will be paid each semester. After five years of missionary service, the loan does not require repayment. The loan will be paid directly to the recipient following proof of registration.
