The Wisconsin Conference has a team of individuals who work with congregations to help them through their conflict. The coordinator will conduct a conflict analysis, and may then assign two team members to meet with the church, or recommend other resources.

Here is a list of things the congregation needs to do to request this ministry:

  1. Be willing to come to the table.
  2. Agree to secure the team’s services (either the Staff Parish Relations Committee or the Church Council)
  3. Commit to a process as outlined in a memorandum of understanding drawn up for that particular situation.
  4. Pay half of the fee up front, and half upon completion of the process.

To set up this ministry, call or email the team coordinator, Rev. Jim Cotter, 920-623-3625; This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Testimonials

I have no doubt that most churches go through conflict in some part of their history. I am sure every participant in our circle had some doubts about the meeting and came away grateful that we had begun to trust one another again. We had a chance to reconcile.

I would give you all the highest marks. We may have dwelled on non-issues too long. But people got to say things that have been on their minds for some time. We should have done this a long time ago.

“Whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple--truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward." (Matthew 10:42, NRSV)
