Wisconsin Conference disaster response volunteersOur Wisconsin Disaster Response Ministry needs volunteers to become involved in disaster response. The Disaster Response Team of the Wisconsin Conference is mobilized to reach out and help others when and where they need help the most. Currently our ministry is relatively small, but it is made up of very dedicated people.

Our team members are specialists in Disaster Response and have been trained in UMCOR Disaster response policies and procedures for the most effective work we can offer. District Coordinators, the Conference Disaster Response Coordinator, Team Leaders and a few at-large persons make up the committee to determine policy and responses. Teams include: Spiritual Care, Logistics, Communications, Volunteer Management, Early Response and Case Management.

We need to join together and plan ahead so that we are ready when God calls us to help his people during the days of suffering. When disaster strikes, the local church usually provides the first response. You can serve and be part of a much-needed ministry team. Those who volunteer will receive training and will be asked to do a background check.

Thank you for the gift of your time, talent and money, and for understanding that planning, preparation and performance go a long way when it comes to disaster response.
