Groat Rural Ministry Accessibility Grant

The Groat Grant program was very successful and all funds have been distributed.  The program is closed at this time.

The initial bequest received in 2016 was $ 365,286.

The Board of Trustees established the criteria for the program and issued the first Groat Grant  in October 2017 to Phillips UMC to extend their handicap ram to meet building code regulations.  Since then a total of 69 grants have been awarded totaling $579,421.  The fund was held at our Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation. The earnings and increase in market value allowed us to distribute $214,000 more than we originally received.  Due to the success of the program and the receipt of a recent bequest, the Trustees are evaluating an extension of this program.  They will next meet in July 2023 and we will let you know when the program will open up again.
