Groat Rural Ministry Accessibility Grant
The Wisconsin Conference Board of Trustees is administering a bequest from the Groat Family. Grants are available to rural churches who are undertaking a capital/physical building improvement that addresses accessibility. Up to $10,000 in matching funds is available and applications are accepted throughout the year. Grants are awarded in January, April, July and October.
Matching grants are also available to support technology projects that improve virtual accessibility for rural churches. To apply, submit a written request that describes
- The church/ministry and how it meets the definition of “rural”;
- The church/ministry plans to improve accessibility
- The costs of proposed modifications (ie, invoices, bids, list of supplies with costs, etc.)
- The amount of grant funds requested - max of $10,000 lifetime per facility, or 50% of project costs as described in 3.
