Coping Through COVID - Leadership and Resilience Conversations on Trauma

Today’s world has certainly caused varying levels of trauma for almost all of us. And even if you feel like you’ve fared pretty well, undoubtedly you know someone who is having a tougher time, either in your family or social circle, or in your congregation. The Wisconsin Conference cabinet, in collaboration with LeaderWise, is offering you a place to explore trauma and its effects – in learning and conversation together with colleagues, facilitated by LeaderWise staff.

Please join us for a series of three Zoom Webinar conversations,
held on Thursdays from 2:00-3:30 PM, as follows:

August 13: Education on trauma, while also attending to the needs of participants through centering, mindfulness, and checking in.
August 20:  Reflecting on personal trauma due to COVID-19 and systemic racism.
August 27:   Trauma in your churches - helping your people/congregations heal.

During each session, breakout groups will be utilized so that small groups can discuss and process the content together.

LeaderWise staff psychologists will facilitate discussion. Dr. Caroline Burke, Dr. Drew Benson, and Danny Elenz will guide these conversations. You can find their biographies here: www.leaderwise.org.

Cost is $35 for early registrants. As of August 1, registration will be $45. Registration closes on August 7.
CEUs of ½ credit will be given to those who participate in all three conversations.

Invitations will be sent to all clergy with registration information. For more information, or if any other church leaders wish to participate, email Sue D’Alessio, Director of Connectional Ministry, at sdalessio@wisconsinumc.org.

Information to connect with the Webinar conversations will be sent to all registrants prior to August 13.
