Wisconsin Conference United Methodist Women (UMW) at their Conference Executive Meeting on Saturday April 23, voted unanimously to endorse Sam Royappa for episcopal candidacy. Laura Pfeffer, UMW President, said, “We are very grateful for the support Sam has given to UMW and at the Conference and District level, as well as his continued commitment to mission throughout the world. We wish him well and will be praying for him as he goes forward in the process.” Sam Royappa has already been endorsed for his episcopal candidacy by the National Asian American UM Federation, Wisconsin Black Methodist Church Renewal, Wisconsin Asian Caucus, Wisconsin Ethnic Local Church Concerns, and affirmed by the Wisconsin Hispanic/Latino Caucus.
