The Emergency Food Pantry at United Methodist Children’s Services (UMCS) serves over 250 families in a month, and numbers are increasing! Volunteers are needed to help serve their clients during open hours, which are Monday and Wednesday between 12-4 p.m. During a regular shift, you'll assist in receiving orders, packing bags of food from their pantry according to family size, distributing the food to the public, and assisting with crowd control. There is also always food to sort and shelve as well.

The Emergency Food Pantry can get extremely busy, and they need upbeat people to help keep the energy and environment of the Resource Center positive. Volunteers must be able to stand for two hours, be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 25 lbs., be able to maneuver around a small workspace, work well with others, and have a positive and outgoing personality, with an open mind. Each volunteer shift is two hours, and they ask that you commit to at least one shift a month (though more hours are always welcome!).
