Ica, Peru: June 21-29, 2018

Mission leaders Lynnette Jordan and Jody Pratt from the Wisconsin and Michigan United Methodist Conferences will be working in coordination with Pastor Dennis Rojas, the District Superintendent of the Costal Sur District of Methodist Church of Peru, on a mission trip to Peru on June 21-29, 2018. This is a continued long-term partnership working toward the completion of an Education Center building in Ica, Peru, along with outreach in the surrounding communities.

The 2018 trip is phase three of the building project. The team will work with the members of the Ica church to prepare the building for a roof on the education center. Since the roof will be constructed by a hired contractor, the combined group of U.S. and Peruvian Methodists will be participating in outreach and community service in the Los Pollitos community.

As part of the community service, we will be building a new community center because the last community center was destroyed in the April 2017 flooding. The Wisconsin/Michigan team will also be spending a day with the Independencia Church. Cost will be $1,000 per participant, which includes all in-country food, lodging, transportation, project costs, travel insurance, and translator fees. It does not include airfare. For more information or to register, contact Lynnette Jordan at This email address is being protected from spambots. Cusco, Peru: Approximate Dates July 18-29, 2018

Cusco, PeruRev. Kelly Jahn and Corinn Pillsbury are putting together a team of 16-26 year-olds to go on a language and cultural exchange mission to Cuzco, Peru in July 2018. They intend on equal participation of Peruvians in the same age group. Together, the group will be doing light construction in two churches, and possibly a Methodist camp in the Cuzco area during the day, with time for Peruvians to work on English, and Americans to work on Spanish each day. The hope is to create some lasting relationships from this, as well as give both groups an advantage for employment. Limited spots will be available for chaperones as well. Approximate cost for the trip will be $1,200 + airfare ($500-750). For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
