This past Saturday, November 25th, Bishop Jung preached at the closing ceremony of “2030 Conference,” a four-day spiritual formation conference during Thanksgiving break for Korean youth and young adults. The main target of the conference is Korean students studying at college and graduate school in the U.S. Several Korean churches in college towns started this conference 17 years ago for students that cannot travel to their family in Korea during Thanksgiving. 350 students heard the Bishop preach, “We, Christians, are all sent to be peacemakers.” Myunghoon Han, the organizer of the 2030 Conference and pastor at Madison: Korean Ministries UMC, said, “It is really awesome to see hundreds of students spend their Thanksgiving holidays worshipping God and learning the way of Christianity. Bishop Jung beautifully closed out the 2030 Conference with his spirit-filled sermon and the Holy Communion.”
