Yorkville United Methodist Church invites you to celebrate 175 years of ministry November 11 and 12. Saturday night at 5:00 pm is a catered banquet in Fellowship Hall, followed by “Sharing God’s Love – A Sentimental Journey” at approximately 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. The program will feature all the musical groups of the church – Senior Choir, Rhythm & Praise, Hims of Harmony, and K.I.C.K. Choir (Kids In Christ’s Kingdom), plus skits and other surprises. Even if you don’t attend the banquet, you are welcome to come for the program.

On Sunday, November 12, Bishop Hee-Soo Jung will preach at both the 8:00 and 10:15 am worship services. Refreshments will be served in Fellowship Hall after the later service. At 10:00 am, the Bishop will dedicate the new bell tower recently built to house the 1,400-pound church bell, which has been in storage since 1999. Former pastors who are returning for the celebration include: Rev. James Rivers (1969-1973); Rev. David Mangun and Rosemary (1973-1978); Rev. Ardys Van Stavern (1986-1989); Rev. Paul Armstrong and Cindi (1994-2001); and Rev. Gary Swanson and Mary Jo (2001-2010). Rev. Stephen Polster and Caroline (1978-1986) will be present on Sunday. Rev. Susan Leih has been the pastor since 2010; and Christopher Van Beek is the student pastor. The church is located at 17645 Old Yorkville Road (63rd Drive, just north of Highway 20), Union Grove.
