Celebrate World Communion Day on Sunday, October 1 at Central UMC in Milwaukee. At 4 PM, the church will hold a Prayer Worship for Peace in the Korean Peninsula and the World. Bishop Hee-Soo Jung said, “The Korean Peninsula cries out from pain and division. Peace and reconciliation in the Korean peninsula will move us all closer to peace on earth. I am so pleased to invite you and your congregation to the Prayer Service for Peace in Korea. Your prayers for healing and reconciliation are sought.”

The sermon “Christ, Our Peace” will be delivered by Rev. Dr. Sun-Joong Kim, Shared Covenant UM Ministries. Liturgists include Elizabeth Brinnehl, Chair of Wisconsin Board of Church and Society, and Prof. Dr. Nan Kim, UW Milwaukee. Communion bread and juice will be prepared, in Christian kinship, by both the people of Central UMC in Milwaukee and So Beautiful Korean UMC in Greenfield. After the prayer service, there will be fellowship with a light Korean dinner served by Korean United Methodist Churches (Kenosha, Greenfield and Madison).

UW Milwaukee Professor Dr. Nan Kim, an internationally recognized scholar on Korea and a steering-committee member of the Alliance of Scholars Concerned about Korea, will be available to answer the participants' questions. The evening is hosted by Central UMC and The Korean Caucus of Wisconsin Conference.
