Active clergy and lay employees enrolled in the Conference group health insurance will see a major change in the plan for 2017. This change will not apply to retirees in the Medicare supplement plan. The HealthFlex Exchange will offer six levels of coverage which each participant will need to select among. The options range between a $1,000 deductible with a $6,500 single in-network out-of-pocket (OOP) maximum to a $3,000 deductible plan with a $6,500 single OOP maximum. The choices include varying levels of pharmacy benefits. A basic plan will be provided for each eligible participant, with the option of “buying up” to more extensive coverage. Participants may add a dental plan to their coverage. This is a private exchange and not eligible for the Premium Tax Credit available through the Federal Exchange established under the Affordable Care Act. At noon on Monday, June 13 during Annual Conference Learning Day, there will be a 45 minute explanatory session by a General Board of Pension and Health Benefits staff member in a room near the luncheon area at the Marriott. In-depth enrollment training sessions will be held in each district during September and October prior to the November 2 – 17 annual election period. Participants who do not make an election will be automatically enrolled in B1000 coverage, which will have the highest pastor’s premium cost. Questions may be directed to Rev.
