The Rev. Dr. Tim Bias, General Secretary for Discipleship Ministries in Nashville, Tennessee, spent two days in August with over 150 Wisconsin Conference clergy leaders to explore together our mission, focus, and identity as United Methodists, with a particular emphasis on evangelism and telling our story. Using the acronym H.O.P.E., Tim encouraged the gathered leaders to focus on Hospitality, Offering Christ, Purposeful Living and Engaging with the Community as the core process of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

Tim shared several inspiring stories of relational evangelism and facilitated multiple small group discussions for sharing personal stories. Bishop Hee-Soo Jung led opening worship and closing communion, reminding Wisconsin clergy leaders of the need for retreat, rest and renewal as an important part of pastoral ministry.
