A Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration hosted by Bishop Jung for the Wisconsin Conference will be held on Sunday, January 18 at 7 p.m. at Whitefish Bay UMC, 819 E Silver Spring Dr., WI 53217. Bishop Jung will be the preacher for this worship service celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and what we are doing to live out his vision. The service will alsofeature music from a combined choir of churches in the city and surrounding Milwaukee area. This year, all Wisconsin Conference members are encouraged to participate in a day or week of service, either before or after the celebration, in honor of Dr. King’s life. Be sure to take pictures and videos and send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. At the service, an offering for Rising Sun Camp, one of our justice ministries that serves school-age children who have an incarcerated parent, will be taken. Donations cover nearly all the cost of camp for these children, and churches who cannot participate in the celebration are encouraged to send a love gift for Rising Sun Camp to the Conference treasurer’s office. In addition, child care will be available during the event, and the event will be live-streamed on the Wisconsin UMC homepage.
