Hillcrest Family Services is a faith-connected, nonprofit provider of health and education services for children, families and adults in need. Hillcrest advocates on their behalf and works collaboratively with local communities to provide a range of quality and innovative services. Though located in Dubuque, Iowa, they also serve families and children in Wisconsin. Recently, Hillcrest celebrated its 100th anniversary, and this month will celebrate its 20th anniversary of its Christmas lights display, Reflections in the Park. The lights display will be open to the public Novmber 27 through January 3, and features more than 60 displays. Upwards of 50,000 visitors view the Reflections in the Park event each year, including Santa Claus, who will be at the park every Monday in December leading up to Christmas. “We are so privileged to be in a city that allows us to use a city park for this show,” Sondra Bennett, event coordinator at Hillcrest, said. "It is truly a community event." Approximately 500 community volunteers put in over 3,500 hours making Reflections in the Park happen, from selling display to handling the promotions, while at the park, doing everything from set-up, to volunteering while the show is up and running, to taking down the displays when the show wraps up.
