Dan Dick, Director of Connectional Ministries, is currently on study and renewal leave until September 19. During his leave, Dan will be researching multicultural ministry across the Hispanic and Latino communities, focusing attention on the current and emerging state of Hispanic and Latino ministry in the Wisconsin Conference, and working with denominational leadership on the future of Hispanic and Latino ministries in The United Methodist Church. “Hispanic and Latino ministries (as evidenced by the National Plan for Hispanic Ministries) are still predominantly marginalized and segregated throughout our denomination, he said. “There is no healthy future for either Anglo or Hispanic/Latino ministries that are not fundamentally multicultural and multigenerational. I want to immerse myself in the best and latest thinking to better serve this Conference as we work to develop a healthy cultural competency.” During this time of reflection and research for Dan, please pray for his growth and the growth of the Wisconsin Conference. If you need assistance in Dan’s absence, call the Sun Prairie Office at 888-240-7320 and your question can be directed to the appropriate person.
