In the Bashford United Methodist Church newsletter, two members of the congregation shared their experiences at Pine Lake Camp. Kari Sweeney shares how she went with her four-year-old daughter to the Mother/Daughter Weekend. She said, “We immediately felt welcomed; like we had known these women and girls for years. It was the kind of connection that’s hard to explain, but where you can sit and be yourself, and feel at peace with very little effort.”

She continued, “The camp activities were the perfect mix of time with God and devotions, relaxation, and exploration time. There was a time when the older girls led the daughters in devotionals, which gave the moms a chance to connect with each other as well. The accommodations were hotel-like, with your own private room and bathroom. The food was amazing! Fluffy pancakes, French toast, burgers, brats, chicken – so yummy! The lake was crystal clear for swimming, and we kayaked and took paddle boats out as well. The staff was friendly and fun, and the whole camp was clean and well organized.”

Marla Dahlk encouraged people of all ages to make a trip to Pine Lake Camp. She said, “There are so many activities to enjoy. Peace, serenity, and the beauty of God's world. Lake water is so clear that you can see minnows in the shallow areas. Fishing, hiking, swimming, canoes, row boats and kayaks are some of the many activities available. Also high ropes course and archery! The camp manager Nick is awesome. Camp staff are great. Meals are provided, so there is no work!”
