For the past three years, Faith UMC, Superior, has led an initiative with seven United Methodist Churches in the Duluth Area to host a youth and young adult trip to Wisconsin Dells. The goal is to help develop friendships with other United Methodist youth, and to create great experiences of “church.” Rev. Joel Certa-Werner said that “this trip isn’t just about having fun – it’s about growing friendships with other youth, as we grow closer to Jesus with a very welcoming and fun experience.”

Participants paid just $9 for the entire trip, which was subsidized by a grant from the Wesleyan Fund of the Twin Ports United Methodist Ministries. This year, the group decided to invite youth from the North West District. Youth from the Upper St. Croix Parish (Grantsburg; Central, St. Croix Falls, Atlas, Wolf Creek), and Mondovi: Our Saviors, and Gilmanton joined in!

On Wednesday, June 13, Mauston UMC graciously welcomed the group to their W.O.W. (Worship on Wednesday) service with a very relevant message by Rev. Anita Genrich, scrumptious homemade pizza party, fun bingo games with prizes, and sleep-over in the church building. The group spent the next day, June 14, at Mount Olympus Water and Theme park, and enjoyed a tailgate picnic lunch and supper at Burger King.
