Last month, the United Methodist Endorsing Agency (UMEA) sponsored Boundary and Ethics Training for 18 endorsed chaplains and pastoral counselors in the South East District. Some, but not all, of the participants were United Methodist clergy from various healthcare organizations and a couple of private practices in the area.

The training was led by United Methodist Elder, Rev. Joretta Marshall, Ph.D. She serves as Professor of Pastoral Theology and Counseling, as well as Academic Dean, at Brite Divinity, Texas Christian University. Thank you Dr. Marshall for providing us with such engaging and essential information for our practice of specialized ministry. We are all better practitioners for having attended, and have met our Conference requirement for boundary training.

We also thank Rev. Bruce Fenner, who recently retired from the Endorsing Agency, who helped us make this presentation possible! Your many years of service at the UMEA has blessed many of us, and we are pleased to welcome you home to Wisconsin in your retirement.

And last but not least, thank you Rev. Wendee Nitz and the Oak Creek United Methodist Church for allowing us to host this event in your building. Your guidance and hospitality was greatly appreciated!
