Westby UMC focused on sharing Christmas with their neighbors this past December. One of their sharing activities was to purchase gifts for residents of the Norseland Nursing Home, who otherwise may not receive any special gifts this Christmas. They provided gifts for 18 of the residents this year. Another sharing activity was Christmas Caroling to residents of several of the senior living centers in Westby, Norseland Nursing Home, Friendship House, Old Times – Assisted Living and Halverson Apartments. They also sang Christmas carols for some members of the congregation.

Their final Christmas sharing activity was the Baskets of Love mission project. The congregation donated money to provide a Christmas dinner for 11 families in the area, who needed a little Christmas cheer. They were able to provide a turkey, potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, a pie and a gallon of milk for each family, enough to feed a family of 4-5 people. Linda Weilnau, from the Communication Committee at Westby UMC, said, “Thanks to God’s blessing upon our congregation, we were able to spread his love, and the joy of Christmas to many of our neighbors in the Westby area.”
