Wisconsin United Methodist Camps had an initial goal to raise $30,000 on #GivingTuesday to pay for a new roof for Amphlett Hall of Pine Lake Camp. They received a $10,000 challenge grant from a generous donor where all gifts up to the first $10,000 on Tuesday were doubled. The staff at WIUMCamps were thrilled to see how quickly they reached that goal.

Throughout the day, three additional donors offered $5,000 matching grants. By the end of the day, they had received $28,479 in donations, matching money for $25,000, and a very generous gift from the Wisconsin United Methodist Foundation. The grand total was $63,479 from 213 donors!

When Sharon Cook, Coordinator of Camp, Retreat, and Age-Level Ministries, announced the final total, she thanked everyone who had participated throughout the day and said, “This day demonstrates the power that we all have to change the world. It also shows that there are millions out there who believe in doing good and helping others, which in and of itself is very inspiring.”
