On December 3rd, the New Horizons UMC in Wittenberg offered a free meal to the community of Wittenberg. "This is the third one we have offered," pastor Loretta Waegli said. "This year we wanted to have more than a free meal and craft and bake sale, so we collected 30-40, new and used, for children and adults. Members made scarves, hats, and mittens and donated them. These were a great hit with those that attended our event. We had about 75-100 persons attend. The coats and hats and other things were well accepted. There were many happy faces. The ones we had left over were donated to the Wittenberg Elementary school for the children there. Our meal was also free to the community. There was a free will offering but whoever wanted a meal received one. Our church has 17 in the congregation and all 17 showed up to help at the meal. Our little church wants to be a church in mission. We are so proud of what we have done with God’s help. We have in about 16 months renovated our church and have done all kinds of missions to the community. God is GOOD and continues to bless us."
