From Saturday, September 29, 2018
To Sunday, September 30, 2018

First United Methodist Church of Whitewater and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary are hosting Hope for Creation September 29-30, 2018 at First UMC of Whitewater: 145 S. Prairie St, Whitewater, WI. The workshop and worship will be led by Rev. Dr. Timothy Eberhart, assistant professor of theology and ecology and director of the Master of Arts in public ministry program at Garrett-Evangelical.

On Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rev. Dr. Timothy Eberhart will lead a series of workshop sessions that explore how Christians are called to share in the healing of creation. Participants will reflect on the spiritual implications of environmental degradation, examine the relevance of Christian beliefs to an ecological perspective and explore practical ways people of faith are engaged in mission and justice for the good of the earth. Elements of worship are included in the day.

On Sunday, September 30, Dr. Eberhart will preach at First United Methodist Church of Whitewater’s 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. worship services.

The registration fee for the workshop is $15 per person (ages 14 and older) and lunch is guaranteed for those who RSVP by September 24, 2018. Registration after September 24--including day of registration--is possible with limited lunch availability.
