The New St. James Community Church UMC

This is an invitation to share in our third trauma workshop “Trauma: Healing the Family” being held at Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W. Vliet Street on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th from 1-4 p.m. in the afternoon.

We know that too many of our youth are exposed to traumatic situations. Sometimes it is domestic violence, other times bullying. Sometimes it is gun violence, death or other brutal acts. These actions leave their impact on our minds and behaviors, especially on the behaviors of the youth. It can affect their schoolwork, personal behavior and all aspects of their lives.

Because of the imprint of these actions on us, we are offering a session especially for the youth and a separate session for the adults.

These workshops are being facilitated by well-trained professionals whose goal is to help us improve our mental health. The workshops will deal with ways trauma affects us and offer suggestions on how to deal with it.

Please join us on September 15th and 16th from 1-4 p.m. at the Washington Park Senior Center for these workshops, which are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. A repast will be served.

COME and BRING everyone you think will benefit from this. We are never too old to learn.
