Missionaries Bill and Gwen Gibson and David and Solange Makobo were introduced to the Conference on Sunday, and Gail Burgess presented and thanked eight churches who became Rainbow Covenant Churches. The Rainbow Covenant brochure is a resource to help churches plan mission giving in eight different areas, in addition to paying 100% apportionments. The eight churches who achieved Rainbow Covenant status through their gifts last year are Bay View, Brown Deer, Crystal Lake, Appleton: Emmanuel, Neenah: First, Liberty Pole, Oshkosh: Wesley, and Bristol.

In addition, Director of GBGM’s In Mission Together Patrick Friday thanked Wisconsin for its consistent support for missions. “I can’t get away from Wisconsin people in the mission field,” he said. “It’s really amazing the good work you do.” But he challenged us to do more. “We are one of the most generous Churches, but how can we do better? He said that In Mission Together is all about focusing on global and local missions 50/50, and moving from short-term, needs-based relief to long-term, asset-based relief. He also spoke about his program in a special presentation on Sunday evening following dinner.
