Action items 8-9, 10, 11, 13, 16-18, 19-22, 24, 25-26 were presented to Annual Conference during Saturday’s Plenary. Click here for more information about the action items.

Sharon Cook, Director of Camp, Retreat, and Age-Level Ministries, outlined the steps that the Board of Camp and Retreat Ministries (BCRM) took following last year’s Annual Conference when they were asked to reduce dependence on Apportionment dollars. Following work with a consulting agency, the Board reconfigured the budget and approved new marketing and programs, including a new website, catalog, Camp in the Community program, and new retreats. This spring, an Annual Campaign was launched, and $10,000 has been raised so far. “We are really excited on this start and we recognize this is only the beginning,” Cook said. Changes outlined in Action Item #11, including eliminating committees and creating a smaller Board, were approved by BCRM in April. The Action Item was also approved by our Annual Conference during Saturday morning plenary. Click here to view the Power Point shown during this presentation.
