During the laity address Saturday morning, Conference Lay Leader Deanna Shimko expressed thanks for all who are called to laity, who are sowing the seeds that will grow. She llifted up the success of the first annual Laity Leadership Convocation in March, and expressed her excitement to collaborate with Bishop Jung in carrying out his visions and initiatives for the Wisconsin Conference. “Bishop, we walk side by side with you in the Imagine No Malaria initiative, the 5 districts plan, Circuit Ministry 2.0, and a budget to support the ministry we are called to. We are developing and nurturing principled spiritual leaders, equipped for leading in local churches, circuits and beyond.”

Shimko also talked about the success of the Faith Alive program and how recent graduates of the program are now strong leaders. “These graduates have grown and are growing ever deeper faith roots and strong courage trunks. And they are faithful and bold following God’s call to become a local pastor, a district lay leader, a hospitality coordinator for Faith Alive!” Click here to read the full address.
