Church Administrative Assistant – Part-Time (16 hrs per week)

Emmanuel Community UMC, located in Menomonee Falls, WI is a congregation of the United Methodist Church, a global denomination that engages in mission and ministry around the world.
We have an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Administrative Assistant, working 16 HPW – M-Th 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  Reporting to the Lead Pastor, the Administrative Assistant will provide support for staff, volunteers, Church congregation  and external contacts.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • General office coordination, including answering the phone and emails, greeting visitors, ordering office supplies, preparing vouchers, coordinating ACH Payments, etc.
  • Coordinating the entire process of preparing all bulletins, Emails, E News, special correspondence, and newsletters
  • Maintaining and updating a web-based Church calendar
  • Coordinating general mailings for the Church, Joys and Concern cards, etc.
  • Updating bulletin boards and calendars in the Church
  • Acting as Membership Secretary and maintaining membership database
  • Overseeing room scheduling
  • Recording weekly attendance electronically
  • Coordinating  and communicating Annual Church Conference documents
  • Coordinating the scheduling of special giving communications
  • Assisting with communications to Digital Specialist on website changes/updates
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Proficient working with office equipment, such as copiers, computers, telephone, and fax
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office, publishing, and data base software
  • Must show a willing attitude of Christian service to their position and its responsibility
  • Be a person of genuine Christian character who understands the role as a ministry in line with the mission and vision of the church
  • Be able to be independently and proactively complete tasks and communication to others
  • Understand professional confidentiality and use discretion in discussion of sensitive matters
Desired Skills:
Working with web-site maintenance a plus.  Knowledge of web-site maintenance skills such as Word Press-Webb Host, Basic HTML, CCS Skills, Graphic-Photo Shop.
HS Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of administrative experience preferred
Salary Range
Salary range  $18-$24 per hour – depending on experience
