Administrative Assistant

Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Pewaukee
The Administrative Assistant position works for, and reports to, the Pastor and this position ensures a high level of administrative efficiency for the church through the application of excellent office management, clerical, time management, and project management skills. This position is the first contact for the public.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant is expected to spend 25 hours each week, Monday - Friday preferably 9:30-2:30 pm but negotiable, and will keep track of their hours on a time sheet.

The duties listed below are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Keep church office welcoming, organized, and presentable: sort and distribute mail, answer phones and email, greet visitors.
  • Maintain open communication with the Pastor regarding planning, coordination and execution of office procedures and special projects.
  • Facilitate communication between visitors, church leadership and Pastor. Serve as a point of triage/coordination as issues arise.
  • Create, in consultation with Pastor/church leadership, and print/distribute materials including: bulletins, reports, letters to members, e-mails, PowerPoint decks, etc.
  • Organize, inventory, and order office supplies.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, QuickBooks
