Purpose:

Administer all components of residential summer staff program and culture in alignment with the mission and values of GLCC to invigorate GLCC with a perennial community of mission partners.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Lead program promotion and marketing efforts for the residential summer staff program
  2. Recruit candidates from October through March for the residential summer staff program who are eager to learn and equipped for service.
  3. Oversee scheduling of residential summer staff in collaboration with department heads throughout GLCC.
  4. Assist with development of and oversee compliance with policies, guidelines, and safety protocols for the residential summer staff program. 
  5. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders: guests, employees, volunteers, community members, families, etc.
  6. Develop and facilitate an intentional discipleship program with daily, weekly and monthly touchpoints to collaboratively disciple young adults in their walk with Christ.
  7. Facilitate apprenticeship experiences for each residential summer staff member in various GLCC departments based on department need and, when possible, student staff preference.
  8. Assign and collaboratively supervise work assignments with department directors.
  9. Coordinate recreational, community, and social experiences for residential summer staff.
  10. Strategize program development and growth throughout the year.
  11. Build complementary programs at Green Lake Conference Center throughout the calendar year that will nurture and promote the residential summer staff program and its participants.
  12. Assess program effectiveness and communicate program successes to relevant stakeholders (executive leadership, administrative staff, volunteers, ministry partners, donors, etc.)
  13. Revise and modify program distinctives and methods for improved outcomes.
  14. Collaborate with staff at other programs to enhance the effectiveness of GLCC’s residential summer staff program.
  15. Interact with residential summer staff in a pastoral role, anticipating, caring for and responding to needs.
  16. Contribute to the program “learning” curriculum with an emphasis on: competency, developmental growth, and best practices.

Qualifications
  • Preferred College Credential
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Mature, disciple of Christ
  • Heart for mentoring/discipling youth in the Christian faith
  • Strong reputation of integrity

  • Professionalism – dependable, responsible, and reliable
  • Effective communication with all co-workers, guests, and staff.
