Administrative Director - Part-time (24 hours per week) - Sugar River UMC

Sugar River United Methodist Church is currently searching for an Administrative Director at 24 hours per week to support the ministry of the church. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church and overseeing the administrative staff and volunteers. The Administrative Director is the beating heart of the church, equipping others to fulfill their ministry by providing administrative management and coordination in support of the discipleship areas (Connect, Grow and Serve).

Job Summary: The Administrative Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church, providing administrative coordination and management in support of the discipleship areas (Connect, Grow and Serve), and overseeing the responsibilities and duties of the administrative staff.
 Essential Functions:
  • Equip others to fulfill their call to ministry
  • Work with Directors team to coordinate church life
  • Participate in biannual planning retreats
  • Develop and oversee annual budget for Administrative areas
  • Report payroll, work with vendors for insurance and maintenance services
  • Provide and oversee administrative support to the pastor
    • Attend meetings as requested by Pastor
    • Manage Pastor’s calendar
    • Take notes at Director meetings and disseminate, as needed
    • Other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide support to Servant Leadership Board, Finance Team,
  • Supervises Facility Manager, issues building keys, manages office equipment & supply needs
  • Oversee volunteers and work flow for office front desk. Ensuring front desk is staffed M-Th 8:30AM to 12:30PM. Oversees volunteers for Communications, Marketing, Events, and Safe Sanctuary
  • Oversee WAVE team for new member classes, process, and assimilation
  • Maintains church record keeping, facility & web calendars, filing of ministry team minutes, denominational statistical forms, church directories, email distribution lists
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and some level of financial competency
  • Demonstrates skill and success in a team environment
  • Passion to help keep the church organized and hold tight to confidential matters
  • Giftedness in identifying and involving people in ministry/mission
