ANNUAL CONFERENCE WACUM DINNER HIGHLIGHTS ALPHA

This year, the WACUM Annual Conference Luncheon has become a Dinner!  We will meet for dinner at Asbury UMC on Thursday, June 6, at 5:15 p.m.  Asbury is just ten minutes by car from the Annual Conference site.  We will adjourn by 6:45, to allow members to be present for the laity address.  This year’s program will be a presentation by Rev. Karin Kaye from Racine: Evangelical UMC on the Alpha Program.  Alpha is a new evangelism and Bible study program sweeping the country and very popular in United Methodist churches.  Rev. Kaye will explain how Alpha can help you reach unchurched people and those coming from a secular mindset with the basics of the Christian gospel.  This relational, hospitality-style program fits very will with our new emphasis of the Igniting Ministries advertising campaign.  It is an exciting and effective way of presenting the unchanging good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ in a way that searching young moderns can understand and respond to it.  The program originated in a downtown Anglican church in England and has proven very effective there and in hundreds of other congregations.  Several UM congregations in Wisconsin (both small and large) are running Alpha programs.  Come learn more at our WACUM dinner on June 6!  Cost for the meal and speaker is $20 per person.  You may make your reservations by calling toll-free at 1-888-255-2761 or by emailing wacum@wisconsinumc.org.  Brochures will also be coming to all Annual Conference members.

Our purpose in ministry is to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
