The 2017 Church Charge Conference forms system has been updated this year.

The Wisconsin Conference UMC IT Department has provided the following videos and written tutorials for you to use in preparing your computer to complete your Church Charge Conference Forms. If you need more assistance please call or email your District Office Manager.

Before filling out your forms, you need to verify the two requirements below:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is installed and set as your default PDF viewing software.
  • You will need to use one of the two internet browsers. Internet Explorer 11 and Mozilla Firefox are the two web browsers supported by the 2017 Church/Charge Conference Forms system.

Prior to installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC:

  • You will need to know the operating system on your computer so that you can download the correct version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Find out what Operating System your computer is running:

    • Click the start button and look for>my pc, this pc or my computer icon>Right click icon and select more>then choose properties from the sub menu.
    • Click the start button and look for>my pc, this pc or my computer icon > Click on it > the file explorer window will show up>at the top of the window in the task bar > look for computer tab>then go to properties
    • Click on your quick search bar and type control panel>system and security>system.

Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC:

    • Open your default web browser>Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
    • In the search bar>type the following address>http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise
    • Press enter>this will take you to the main Adobe Acrobat Reader DC download page>now you can begin the download process for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
    • You will be presented with a window that contains 3 steps where options are offered. Under Step 1, choose your Operating System>Under Step 2, select the language>under Step 3 select the version you wish to install (we recommend the first selection)>then click the yellow button that reads “download now”
    • The software will begin to download>after software downloads>follow the prompts and begin to install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Make Adobe Acrobat Reader DC the default software for PDF files:

    • Click the start button and find > this pc, pc or computer/my computer icon> then right click on it and go to>more>then go to properties. Next choose>Control Panel on the left side of the new window>next go to programs>next choose default programs> then choose to set Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as your default pdf viewer.
    • Find Adobe Acrobat Reader DC icon>then click on it and go to edit>then preferences>under general at the bottom of the window>click on the “Select As Default PDF Handler” grey button.
    • Find any file with the extension .pdf at the end of the name (example filename.pdf)>then right click on it>then go to properties>then click the button that says change>from the new window select Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

How to use Internet Explorer 11 with Church/Charge Conference Forms:

    • Click the start button>look for File Explorer or Explorer and double click on it > Go to PC, this PC or Computer > find your C: drive double click > find the folder named Program files and double click on it > find folder name internet explorer and double click on it > find the internet explorer 11 icon, right click on the sub menu choose and send short cut copy to your desktop.

How to download and install Mozilla Firefox:

    • Click the start button>look for File Explorer or Explorer and double click on it > Go to PC, this PC or Computer > find your C: drive double click > find the folder named Program files and double click on it > find folder name internet explorer and double click on it > find the internet explorer 11 icon, right click on the sub menu choose and send short cut copy to your desktop.

How to set up Adobe Acrobat Reader as the default PDF viewer in Mozilla Firefox:

    • Open web browser Mozilla Firefox> then click the top right corner on the screen directly below the X>there are three lines Go to options>then on the new window on the left side choose applications> then Locate Portable Document Format (PDF) on the right side>then click where it reads “preview in Firefox.”> you will now see a drop down menu choose “use other”>then a new window will prompt you to choose a different default application>from this window find “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC” press ok>close out Mozilla Firefox and re-open>now Mozilla Firefox is set to use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
