Cold Weather Policy
When the weather is bad and we feel it is too dangerous to travel to church, we will cancel service. Listen to WDUX on the hour and half-hour (sometimes they start five minutes early) at 92.7FM and 800AM. We will also notify WFRV, so watch channel 5 or go to www.wfrv.com and click on “cancellations.”
When in doubt, don't go out!

Join us November 11 at 3pm to discuss The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
Our next book: Sometimes, I Wake Up Grumpy...and Sometimes I Let Him Sleep by
Karen Scalf Linamen. From PMS and badly behaved men to bad-hair days and broken
dreams, this collection of stress-busters, hope-builders, and joy-potions helps
women laugh, cry, seize the best, and forgive the rest. Please feel free to join
us for any of our book discussions.

Pastor Joan and eight other people have officially started growing their hair. Why? So they can donate it to Locks of Love, an organization that provides hairpieces to children facing long-term hair loss due to medical reasons. Would you like to join Pastor Joan and the others and start growing your hair? It’s easy; just have your hair measured (at the nape of your neck), and tell Pastor Joan the length. Unfortunately, Locks of Love cannot use bleached hair. Any other color hair is accepted. Thanks for your prayers, especially for the children.

With prayers in our hearts and needles in hand,
We’ve made you this shawl, so you’ll understand
That your friends and your family are what make you rich!
Please gather strength from the prayers knit into each stitch!
Life’s not always easy—sometimes it’s a bust!
But you can’t give up now—Carry on, it’s a must.
Wrap this shawl around you to make you feel warm,
And know that God’s love is your “magic” charm.
We’ve knit and we’ve purled, each stitch with much care
So you’ll really know, there’s no end to our prayers!

Parfreyville United Methodist Church

Do you need assistance with getting some work done? A door to replace, steps to fix,
some painting to get done, or other work where you need some additional help. Do you
know of some church member who may need this assistance? A family member? A neighbor?
