The mission of the Conference Board of Laity is to enable laity to have full and equal partnerships with clergy and within the Conference, work with the Circuits to grow lay leadership and provide lay opportunities for growth. The Board helps develop principled spiritual leaders for the Church and for the world through the work of the Lay Leadership Development team (Catalyst), Faith Alive!, Lay Servant Ministries, Laity Session at Annual Conference, United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men and the work of the District Lay Leaders.
The Board meets regularly to build relationships with the members and develop new opportunities for leadership development, spiritual growth and collaboration with other boards and agencies in the Wisconsin Conference. Making disciples is a top priority in all laity events and processes. To become a certified Lay Servant in the Wisconsin Conference, you need to take both a Basic and Advanced Lay Servant course.
