Community Change Circles
Community Change Circles are a tool which is useful for addressing key issues,
and building response to community concerns. We have begun to explore this venue
within our Annual Conference. Topics may include racism, poverty, immigration, or other
issues of general community concern. Groups of ten or more gather weekly for six sessions
of two hours to share thoughts and experiences, using a prepared curriculum. At the end of
the six weeks the plan is to create a response to address the issue which has been discussed.
This will likely result in a project or approach to address concerns. It is important to have a
diverse group, for the best conversations and results to take place. These conversations are
deep and significant, and lead to transformation.
