 First
United Methodist Church of Madison is located just one block from the
state capitol building, a dynamic congregation at the heart of a dynamic
city. We are a Welcoming Congregation, open to full participation of all
persons regardless of race, gender, national origin, religious
background, or sexual orientation.
There are a few
parking spaces in the church parking lot and along Wisconsin Avenue which will be available on Sunday mornings
for those with mobility concerns who need to park near the building. You
may also take advantage of the turn-around in the parking lot if a
member of your party needs to be dropped off near to the building.
There are many other parking options available on Sunday mornings.

Our
church building is handicapped accessible. Please
contact the Church Office at 256-9061 if you have accessibility
questions or concerns.
 The
sanctuary, built in 1974, seats about 450 for worship. The Austin pipe organ,
installed in 1992, has 3434 pipes, making it the largest in the city of
Madison and second largest in the state. The organ complements a full
music program which includes a 50 voice chancel choir, a 20 piece brass
choir, children's and youth choirs, and a handbell choir. Updated in
1999, the new, open chancel design allows for a variety of arrangements
for worship, as well as pageants.
 In
addition to an active program of Christian education for all ages,
fellowship opportunities and other events, the
church operates a one of the largest food pantries
in Dane County from its building as well.
 We
would be pleased to have a member of the congregation give you a full
