Holiday
Meals
Almost
twenty years ago, the holiday meal program was initiated on Easter
Sunday, under the leadership of the late Robert “Bob” Prideaux.
The goal was clear: Everyone
should have an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with a “family”
of friends. And so the tradition of three holiday meals began.
FUMC members and community volunteers prepare and serve 400 -
600 meals, on-site in Fellowship Hall or delivered to home-bound
persons, on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.
Donations
of food and volunteer staffing are always welcome.
Planning and scheduling for each event occurs for the four weeks
preceding a meal. If you
are interested in participating in this rewarding food ministry, please
contact Susan
Jeannette, Director of Outreach Ministries (256-9061).
